The transition from childhood to adulthood involves the following realisation for too many.
Child in Maths class: "When will I need to use that in the real world?"
Teacher: "blah blah bla bla bla blah." ( that's what child hears.)
Child now an adult: "Good God you need a degree to understand this." (Adult trying to read a timetable, buy a light bulb in B&Q, or understand debt management.)
Unfortunately the people that need to invent a time machine just aren't clever enough.
